Hassan is a city in the Indian state of Karnataka. It has been named after the town's presiding Goddess "Hasanamba".Hassan is very close to Belur, Halebid and Shravanbelagola, so the town is ideal base to visit there historical places. The Hoysalas ruled over the region of Hassan from 11th to 13th century AD. The Hoysala rulers had built a huge number of temples during their reign and as many as fifty of these amazing sculptures and architectural structures survive today .
